Viewing messages

Would you like to read a message from your healthcare provider? Or do you want to look back at old messages (your history)? Follow these steps:

How to open your messages

You can go to your messages in two ways:
  1. Click on Messages in the menu on the left side.
  2. Or click on the white Messages block in the middle of the dashboard.

Screen layout

The screen is divided into two parts: a left side and a right side.

On the left side, you will see a list of all your messages:
  1. You can see who the message is from. For example, it says Message from GP or Message from assistant.
  2. If you do not see this, it is a message that you sent yourself. This message will start with You:.
  3. You can see the date and time of the message.
  4. You can see the first part of the text.
On the right side, you can read the full message:
  1. Click on a message in the list on the left side. The complete information will then appear on the right side, including the subject, date, time, the full text and whether you added an attachment to your message.

What does a reply from your healthcare provider look like?

When you and your healthcare provider reply to each other, you will see this as a single conversation thread on the right side of your screen:
  1. Top section: This shows the reply from your healthcare provider (From: Huisartsenpraktijk).
  2. Bottom section: This shows your own previously sent message (Sent by you).

Viewing or downloading attachments

Did your healthcare provider include an attachment (such as a letter, form, or photo)? You will see this at the bottom of the message under the heading Attachment (Bijlage).
You can view or save the attachment by clicking on the three dots on the right side of the file. You will have two options:
  1. Preview (Voorbeeld): The attachment will open directly on your screen, allowing you to view the document or photo right away.
  2. Download: The attachment will be saved to your computer, tablet, or phone. You can then open the file whenever you like.
Good to know:
You might notice that the file name looks a bit unusual in this overview, for example, showing a double extension like photo.jpg.jpg or document.pdf.pdf.
This is a known issue in our system that we are currently working to resolve.
Please rest assured that your file has been sent correctly and your healthcare provider can open it without any problems.
